At Highland Canine Training, we are proud to offer a variety of group class dog training at many of our locations across the country.
We offer Basic, Advanced, Puppy and many other group classes. Our group class dog training is a great way to socialize your dog with new people and other dogs.
These courses are held weekly and last for about an hour. Our group classes run for six consecutive weeks from the date that they begin unless otherwise indicated.
Group classes offer so many benefits for you and your dog! They are a great way to learn a variety of dog training skills, and also offer vital socialization for your pup.

Puppy Group Class
Our trainers located across the United States frequently offer group classes for puppies.
These classes provide the foundational behaviors your puppy needs to get off to the best start in life.
We offer two types of puppy classes – our Basic Obedience Puppy Class and the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Program.

Basic Obedience Group Class
Our most popular group class offering, this course is a great place for many dogs and owners to start!
This class teaches dogs and owners on-leash skills such as sit, down, stay, come, heel, and place. This class is also designed to help owners deal with problems such as pulling on the leash, jumping on people, etc. It is also a great forum for socializing your dog with new environments, people, and dogs.

Intermediate Obedience Group Class
Our Intermediate Obedience class builds on behaviors learned in basic obedience, and introduces real-world distractions and training techniques to ensure your dog listens regardless of the situation.
In this class, you will learn how to use training tools to develop a healthier working relationship between you and your dog. By working your dog around distractions under the supervision of a professional trainer, your dog will develop consistent behaviors – both at home, and in public.
This class is designed for dogs that have already completed our basic training class or an equivalent course. A prong collar is included in the price.

Minimum age: 22 weeks
Advanced Obedience Group Class
Our Advanced Obedience class instructs dogs and owners on off-leash methods for teaching commands such as sit, down, stay, come, heel, and place.
This class is designed for dogs that have already completed our basic and intermediate training classes, or an equivalent course. Our advanced obedience class is a great way to polish up previously learned skills in addition to learning new ones. This course is also a great way to continue socializing your dog with new people and other dogs.

Introduction to Dock Diving Group Class
Are you looking for the perfect outlet for you dog’s energy? Don’t mind getting a little wet in the process? Our dock diving group class could be the ideal option for you!
Alongside our professional instructor, your dog will learn how to safely swim in the water and jump into the pool. Once their confidence increases, they will be able to work on improving the height and distance of their jumps.

Big Air Dock Diving Group Class
When you envision Dock Diving you are more than likely thinking of Big Air. Big Air is the original and most popular dock diving discipline. In this competition a dog races down the dock and leaps into the pool in pursuit of a thrown toy in an attempt to jump the farthest distance possible! Each team will get two jumps and the team with the furthest distance will be crowned the winner!
Whether your dog just loves to jump and swim, or you are planning on competing in the future, this class is the best place to start your Big Air journey! In this class your dog will build the confidence needed to jump off the dock into the water, as well as tips/tricks needed to become a successful handler. Not every dog has what it takes to be a champion, but rest assured we will have a blast trying.

Extreme Vertical Group Class
Are you looking for the perfect outlet for you dog’s energy? Don’t mind getting a little wet in the process? Our dock diving group class could be the ideal option for you!

Search and Rescue Group Class
This class teaches the basics of tracking, odor theory, and basic principles of training tracking and trailing dogs.
This course is a great primer for those that are interested in competition tracking, AKC tracking, or just want to get their dogs out to have fun and learn a new skill. There are no prerequisites for this course. Your dog can progress from SAR I (our most basic program) all the way to SAR III (where dogs complete 30+ minute cold trails). Equipment is not included.

Introduction to K9 Scent Work Group Class
Have a dog with a good nose? Our K9 scent work class is a great way to teach your dog to use their nose to find odors including Anise, Clove, and Birch.
K9 scent work is gaining in popularity and dog owners everywhere are getting involved. This class teaches the fundamentals of scent work for those interested in learning for competition or for fun. Our class teaches everything from imprinting the odors to the final indication.

Intermediate K9 Scent Work Group Class
This class is for the dogs who have mastered the scent work basics and are looking for the next challenge. Your dog’s skills will be put to the test by adding multiple hides, more challenging hide placement, stronger distractions, and longer searches. Whether you are preparing for competitions or just looking to keep your dog’s brain occupied, Scent Work 2 is the next step on your journey.

Advanced K9 Scent Work Group Class
Ready to push your dog’s scent work skills even further? This class provides the ultimate challenge to dogs that have completed our other scent work classes. By perfecting the skills taught in previous courses, scent work 3 provides a fun and challenging experience both dog and owner will enjoy.

Clicker Foundation Group Class
Our Clicker Foundation Group Class is one of our core classes and is a prerequisite for other classes.
This class provides the foundation of understanding and applying a clicker as a form of operant conditioning to better communicate with your dog. This class teaches you the techniques and core fundamentals that you will need to successfully use the clicker to shape and build complex behaviors. Our Clicker Foundation Group Class is required in order to attend our Dog Tricks Class.

Dog Tricks Group Class Training
This class is perfect for owners that want to teach their dogs tricks. This class teaches tricks such as, roll-over, spin, shake, picking up items, etc.
This course is great for challenging dogs mentally as well as physically. This course is a great addition to our basic obedience, advanced obedience, agility, or even therapy dog classes. Our Clicker Foundation group class is a prerequisite for this course.

Minimum age: 20 weeks
Rally Obedience Group Class
Rally Obedience or Rally-O, is a competition obedience dog sport that is quickly growing in popularity across the US.
Many owners are training their dogs for rally obedience for either competition or to simply encourage a greater bond with their dog. Our Rally-O group class teaches you all the fundamentals that you need to begin working with your dog in the exciting sport of Rally Obedience. Our Basic Obedience group class is a prerequisite for this course.

Agility for Fun Group Class
This class is a great way for owners to teach their dog confidence, as well as some exciting new skills.
Our agility for fun class teaches ground work and fundamentals to complete a variety of obstacles and jumps such as weave poles, pause tables, tire jumps, triple jumps, and more! Our Clicker Foundation group class is a prerequisite for this course.

Therapy Dog Group Class
Therapy Dog Class teaches dogs and owners the fundamentals of therapy dog work. Dogs and owners wishing to attend this class must have previously completed a basic obedience class or an equivalent class.
This course includes teaching the skills and proper environmental training that is required for therapy dogs. This course is great if you are looking into doing therapy work in schools, nursing homes, and hospitals. Many of our previous graduates are already involved in these types of exciting and fulfilling programs.
