Board And Train Programs

Board And Train Programs

We offer a variety of Board and Train Programs to fit your needs

Highland Canine Training, LLC offers Board and Train Programs for owners who simply don’t have the time to take their dog’s training to their desired level.

Our Board and Train programs are a great option for dog owners with busy lifestyles, those going out of town for work or vacation, and owners who do not have the skills to train their dog or rehabilitate problem behaviors. We offer a number of different board and train programs to fit your individual needs and budget. When staying at our dog training kennels, your pet will not only get the training and attention that they need, but they will also have the opportunity to socialize and play with other dogs as well.

Our board and train dogs stay in our indoor, climate controlled kennel facilities to ensure their safety and comfort. There is no specific time to sign up; we work with your schedule and the availability of our kennel space.

We simply require enough food to last your dog during its stay, a current copy of vaccinations, and any medications that the dog may need during their stay. We accept cash, personal checks, and credit cards. Please feel free to call or email if you have any further questions. We also offer discounts for multiple dogs as well as dogs adopted from a shelter/rescue organizations.

Basic Board And Train Dog Training

On-Leash Dog Training

Our basic or on leash board and train package lasts for three weeks and is a great program for dogs who have had no professional dog training previously. During our basic program, we will teach the dog to sit, down, stay, come, place, and to heel. Your dog may already know some or most of these commands from your previous training; however, we will teach them that they are not optional. Your dog will perform the commands even without treats and even under considerable distractions by proofing them during the board and train program. We also work on any issues you may be experiencing with your dog, such as; jumping on people, barging out the door, getting on furniture, counter surfing, and pulling on the leash.  Included with our Basic Board And Train Dog Training Program is a video of your dogs training as well as one-on-one training with you when you pick them up. With any of our training programs, we also offer free follow-up training for as long as you own the dog.

Advanced Board And Train Dog Training

Off-Leash Dog Training

Our Advanced or Off Leash Board And Train package lasts for three weeks and works well for dogs who have previously been through our basic program or an equivalent. However, if you need to run both the basic and advanced course our Boot Camp is a perfect option for you. During our Advanced Board and Train Dog Training Program, we will teach the dog to sit, down, stay, come, place, and to heel all completely off-leash.  Much like our basic training program, we ensure your dog will respond to commands even with distractions, by maintaining the dog’s focus through a variety of situations. If your dog has any issues such as jumping up, counter surfing, jumping on furniture, and pulling on the leash, these issues will be addressed  in this program. Included with this program is an instructional video of your dogs training, a Dogtra remote training collar, and one-on-one training with you when you pick the dog up. With any of our training programs, we offer free follow-up training for as long as you own the dog.

Our most popular board and train package, this course lasts six weeks and is great for owners who want off-leash results from a dog that has never had any previous professional dog training. The boot camp board and train program teaches the dog to sit, down, stay, come, place, and to heel, both on and off leash. With our Boot Camp Board and Train, we are able to build a solid foundation for your dog and work through the stages of training at the dog’s pace. We will expose your dog to a variety of different environments, distractions, and situations during our Boot Camp Training.  This course is also the best option for owners with dogs with behavioral problems such as: biting, fighting, phobias, resource guarding, territorial aggression, growling, snapping, fear aggression, and dominance aggression.  Included with this program is a video of your dogs training, a Dogtra remote training collar, and one-on-one training with you when you pick the dog up. With any of our training programs, we offer free follow-up training for as long as you own the dog.

Additional charges may apply in cases of extreme shyness or aggression. After your dog’s stay with us is complete, it is the responsibility of the owner to keep the training of the dog proficient by practicing refresher lessons at home on a regular basis. Q.  Can I visit my dog during the training?

A.  Yes.  You are allowed to visit the dog during training, however it will generally cause set backs in the training and cause the training to take longer.  Therefore, we don’t usually recommend visiting.

A.  Yes.  If you agree to allow your dog to mingle with other socially appropriate dogs at our facility, we will allow them to have play time together.
