Shana Parsnow

Shana has been a key member of the Highland Canine team for a number of years.
She began her career with animals at a young age at a national retail pet chain, and later continued working as a veterinary assistant at a local animal hospital. After several years, she decided that her passion was in training dogs, and embarked on study at the School for Dog Trainers. Shana graduated from the 24-week Master Dog Trainer Program.
Shana works with a variety of dogs and owners. Although Shana works with helping owners and their pets to stay sharp in her obedience and behavior modification skills, she has several years of experience in training a variety of working dogs. Shana has trained dogs for detection, trailing and patrol dog functions, and has also assisted in training new and experienced handlers how to effectively work with their new K9 partners in our Police k9 handler courses. Shana has assisted in the many research and development projects conducted at Highland Canine Training, LLC to better improve police and military working dogs.
With over six years of experience, Shana has a wide variety of tools to help you identify your dogs goals, and help you exceed them.

We are proud to offer Board and Train programs for our clients in the Concord area.
Our Board & Train programs allow you to leave your dog with our professional dog trainer for three or six weeks. During that time, we will work with your dog on a daily basis to resolve problematic behaviors. When you pick up your dog, we’ll show you how to maintain your dog’s new behaviors.

Our trainers offer a wide variety of group dog training classes. This is perfect for socializing your dog in a safe environment. Meeting other pups and different people in a group class setting helps your dog to adapt to new environments and learn new skills.
Our curriculum includes basic obedience, advanced obedience, foundational search and rescue, scent work and puppy classes among others. These classes typically run for six weeks, with classes taking place once a week.

With private lessons, our trainers come to your home once per week. Following an initial evaluation, our trainers use their knowledge and experience to develop an action plan to help you achieve your goals.
