Over several years, Highland Canine Training has developed a reputation for diagnosing and resolving troublesome dog behaviors. Caroline has always had a strong connection to animals, especially dogs.
After working as a commercial real estate broker, she found herself looking for a more fulfilling career. Having always been drawn to animals, Caroline decided to pursue a career as a professional dog trainer and enrolled at the School for Dog Trainers. While completing her 24-week Master Dog Trainer Program, she discovered a passion for working with pet dogs and their owners.
As a professional dog trainer, Caroline’s goal is to help dog owners build lifelong positive relationships through clear communication and consistency. Much like humans, all dogs are unique. Understanding your dog and their individual needs is the first step to building a better relationship; knowing your dog is the foundation for dog training.
Caroline approaches each dog as an individual, creating a specific training plan to meet their particular needs and training goals. She has a number of approaches to tackle any behavioral issues, including (but not limited to): fear/phobias, jumping, barking, biting, aggression and destructive behavior. Caroline is also well versed in clicker training, on and off-leash obedience, and remote collar training. All of these tools allow Caroline to find the right fit for you and your dog.
Whether you want to work on basic obedience, behavioral issues, or just finding physically and mentally stimulating activities your dog loves, Caroline is ready to work with you to give you and your dog lasting results.

Our private lessons and behavior modification programs help you to achieve the results you need with your dog.
With private lessons, our trainers come to your home once per week. Following an initial evaluation, our trainers use their knowledge and experience to develop an action plan to help you achieve your goals. We place importance on teaching owners the best way to maintain these behaviors for the future.
All of our training programs are guaranteed and include free follow-up training for the life of the dog.
Our trainers offer a wide variety of group dog training classes. This is perfect for socializing your dog in a safe environment. Meeting other pups and different people in a group class setting helps your dog to adapt to new environments and learn new skills.
Our curriculum includes basic obedience, advanced obedience, foundational search and rescue, scent work and puppy classes among others. These classes typically run for six weeks, with classes taking place once a week.

Board & Train Programs
We are proud to offer Board and Train programs for our clients in Asheville and the surrounding areas.
Our Board and Train programs allow you to leave your dog with our professional dog trainer for three or six weeks. During that time, we will work with your dog on a daily basis to resolve problematic behaviors. When you pick up your dog, we’ll show you how to maintain your dog’s new behaviors.
