Our clients love working with Kress – here is a selection of their comments!
“Our dog Watson is a totally different dog since training with Kress. He was patient and willing to work with Watson as long as it took for him to reach his goals. He even went out of his way to pick Watson up and drop him off at our house. He got to know Watson ahead of time to build a rapport. Training with Kress was worth every penny, and then some! THANK YOU! “
“I had been searching for the right place to send my 4 year old pit/lab mix for behavior modification for several months when I finally found Highland Canine Training. Knowing that Bella was already 4 years old I thought there was no hope for teaching her new behaviors, but after talking with Kress I knew I had found the right place. Bella was hyperactive, uncontrollable, and extremely hard to handle. After the six week class was over I was blown away by just how amazing my Bella was acting. I could never thank Kress and the rest of the Highland staff for everything they did for my precious fur baby. She was in great spirits the day I picked her up, and I could tell just how much love she received throughout her schooling. It has been a couple months since I brought Bella back home, and she continues to amaze me everyday with her obedience skills. I no longer have that annoying dog that just doesn’t listen, I have an obedient dog that does exactly what I want her to do! Thank you again to everyone that helped with Bella, and a special thanks to Kress!! This training school changed our lives together and I would recommend this school to everyone!”

Your Charlotte, NC Dog Trainer
Growing up, Meadow’s family had two dogs, a sugar glider, cats and horses – so she knows a thing or two about being around animals!
Meadow’s love for dogs has grown ever since she was a young child. At the age of five, she had boxes of stuffed dog toys in her bedroom. She originally wanted to be a veterinarian, but changed her mind after one of her own dogs had to be euthanized. Her love for animals continued to grow, and even though Meadow knew she didn’t have the heart to be a vet, she wanted to make a difference to the canine world by becoming a dog trainer.
To gain a true understanding of the intricacies of canine behavior, Meadow enrolled in the Master Dog Trainer program at the School for Dog Trainers. She graduated at the top of her class and was one of a handful of inductees into the prestigious Alpha Beta Kappa Honor Society.
Meadow has experience with numerous dog breeds. These experiences have taught her that there is no one-size-fits-all when it comes to dog training. Each dog has a unique personality and each breed has its own unique characteristics. As Meadow explains, she believes every dog has untapped potential:
“Some of the best animals I have worked with were rescues. I believe that all dogs have the potential to be incredible pets – but their human families have to know how to effectively work with them. Sometimes people have unrealistic expectations for dogs that they can’t fulfill. It is my job to help individuals and families struggling with their dog’s behavior learn how to best work with their pets so that they have a happy, peaceful home life.
I teach dog owners how their dog thinks and why they act the way that they do. I resolve miscommunications so that owners can best understand their dog’s needs. By helping dogs and humans understand each other and communicate effectively, their bond will strengthen dramatically and an incredible relationship can develop.”
Meadow currently lives in Charlotte. She owns Malibu, a working line German Shepherd who was originally in a Police K9 program. Meadow has considered training Malibu for bed bug detection.
