Highland Canine Training, LLC has launched a new dog training location, serving dog owners in San Antonio, TX and the surrounding areas.

Kim Cain, a graduate of the School for Dog Trainers, will serve clients in San Antonio, Bandera, Kerrville, Boerne and Utopia. Kim will offer a variety of dog training services to help strengthen the human-canine relationship in local communities.

Highland Canine Training now operates 18 dog training locations across 12 states, enabling the company to offer professional, best-in-class services to dog owners across the United States.

With a wealth of experience in coaching and training, Kim trained a variety of dog breeds in her own home as her children grew up. Eventually, she decided it was time to follow her passion and embarked on the six-month Master Dog Trainer program at the School for Dog Trainers.

Kim graduated in June 2020 as Valedictorian of her class and the recipient of the prestigious President’s Award, given to the student who went above and beyond to help staff and students during the course.

Kim's dog training philosophy

As Kim explains, communication is absolutely vital when it comes to dog training, and she’s excited to start working with dog owners to make a difference to their lives.

“My goal is to teach my clients that their dogs don’t speak English, but they do communicate!

We all communicate with our body language, and the tone of our voice – that’s what dogs understand. I love seeing the reaction from my clients when they see their dogs become more engaged, and willing to work, when we train without words. Yes, we add commands, but the real work is done before we add the commands.

There isn’t a one size fits all method of dog training. Not every method works for every dog. The key is finding a method that works best for you and your dog; whether that is from rewarding correct behavior, correcting wrong behavior, or using a little bit of both.

Teaching your dog manners and basic obedience makes living with them enjoyable and helps to build an incredible bond between you and your dog.

There are so many things to do in the San Antonio/Hill Country. With a well-behaved dog, you can enjoy them together!

I love dogs. I love people. My passion is to help people and dogs communicate in a respectful manner that strengthens their bond.”

Based in Utopia, TX, Kim is offering the following dog training services:

For Highland Canine, being able to bring our programs to dog owners in Texas is a privilege, and it reaffirms our overall mission to improve the human-canine bond across the nation.”
