Dogs Playing For Life (DPFL)
Explore the valuable resources created by the DPFL team
Dogs Playing For Life (DPFL) is a nonprofit organization that is committed to improving the lives of shelter dogs. Founded by Aimee Sadler, DPFL’s goal is to provide information and resources that empower shelter and rescue organizations to improve behavioral outcomes for dogs – changes that subsequently have a positive impact on adoption rates. DPFL’s work with shelters also significantly reduces the vicious cycle of surrender → adoption → re-surrender that is unfortunately common for dogs in shelter settings.

DPFL is focused on delivering their vision through enrichment programs and a focus on allowing dogs in shelter environments to interact safely with one another. Research has shown that a lack of social interaction can result in poorer behavioral results, often leading to destructive or reactive behavior. DPFL provides guidance and mentorship for shelters, focusing on how dogs can play safely with each other.
