Highland Canine Training offers Dog Behavior Modification programs for owners with dogs that exhibit difficult behaviors. We work with dogs of all ages and breeds with a variety of problems such as aggression, fighting, biting, resource guarding, dog bullying, phobias, shyness, fears, anxiety and neurotic behaviors.

An initial evaluation and behavioral analysis interview is needed to properly diagnose your dogs issues and determine the root causes of the problems. Our dog behavior modification programs are customized to each individual dog and their owner, as no two dogs are alike and each problem may stem from a different source. Understanding the behavior and cause is the first step to successful rehabilitation. A plan of action is then set in place to ensure the success of our program and the rehabilitation of the dog.

Board and Train Dog Behavior Modification

Board and Train behavior modification is a six week minimum program offered to those who do not have the time to take away from their busy lifestyles to undertake the work needed to rehabilitate a dog with severe behavior problems. Our Board and Train behavior modification program will instill the foundation and address the issues while the dog stays with us. Upon pick up owners will work with the trainer, one-on-one to learn how to more effectively work with their dog and understand the process that went into rehabilitating them.

In Home Dog Behavior Modification

In Home behavior modification is offered to those who wish to address the issues at home in an environment that is more comfortable for the dogs. With certain behavioral problems it is more productive to resolve the problem with the owner where the problem is occurring. We create a training plan and environment in your home that ensures the utmost safety for everyone that is involved in the process of rehabilitating the dog.

Private Lesson Dog Behavior Modification

Private lesson behavior modification is available for those owners who wish to work with their dogs with the regular guidance of a professional dog trainer. Trainers will meet with owners for about an hour at your home or at one of our facilities. Teaching owners to understand the problem and teaching them to work with their dog is part of what makes the behavior modification program successful. Private lesson behavior modification is a reliable option for addressing problem behaviors as long as the owner is able to be consistent with the training.
