Antonia has lived in the Mid-Hudson Valley all of her life. Her love and admiration for dogs started at a young age, however, it seemed like working with dogs was only a dream. In addition to dogs, she has always had a passion for wildlife and environmental conservation, which led her to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Wildlife Science.

After graduating college, she worked in an animal shelter where she instantly reconnected with her passion for dogs. She felt particularly drawn to the “hard to adopt” dogs. “I found great fulfillment in gaining their trust, teaching them new skills, and advocating for their needs,” explains Antonia. “Still, after nearly 4 years of working in rescue, I felt I was falling short in reaching most dogs’ potential, especially those with behavior challenges. I made it my mission to help these dogs by improving my understanding of behavior and training.”

Antonia attended the School for Dog Trainers and graduated from the Master Dog Trainer program with distinction as an Honor Graduate and Shelter Ambassador. Following graduation, she completed a six-month internship at Highland Canine; this experience provided her with ample opportunities to work with dog owners in group and private settings.

Her goal is to provide clients with the tools they need to build a foundation of clear communication between them and their dog(s). On a larger scale, she hopes to keep dogs out of shelters by providing hope to dog owners who may feel that they have no other option.

“I am eager to see all of the positive changes in my clients’ relationship with their dog as a result of our programs!” says Antonia.
